Sand and Bath Toys are just the BEST!
Waterplay in general will keep kids engaged for ages and so many little ones find this to be their favourite playtime activity. When you consider the learning opportunities play based learning, you reach the holy grail of play-based learning.
There are great reasons why kids will sit and play for so long. For example, sand can do so much. First of all it has its on texture to explore, you can make things in it and smash them down. Dig in it, hid things, find things. But then add wate, and it changes completely! What The! It is runny, sticky, soft, hard. There is so much to discover here.
Then pop them in a bath, and the bubbles, water flows, some toys change the colour of the water. Oh the list just goes on and on! And for us adults, these are not bad activities to join in with either. Fun for all really.
