It’s sometimes hard to know what to get as a present or toy for a very young Baby (3-12 months). But our Toy Wagon team LOVES toys and gifts for these small members of our families, so we want to help make that easier!
It’s vital that toys for this age group are safe, simple objects that encourage exploration and open-ended play. Think of things that are easy to grab like well-made rattles or balls designed to be baby hand friendly. Activity gyms are a fantastic option as they also provide a safe space for much needed tummy time and board books are a favourite ‘Babies First Book’ option and provide a great introduction to one-on-one reading time with a parent or caregiver – a valuable habit to create with baby that will pay off in the years to come. Each option are wonderful ways of encouraging developmental milestones during babies first six months.
We are particularly fond of building blocks that give a young baby a range of experiences by building up a structure and then the delight that comes from it being knocked down – what better way is there to first experience cause and effect play.
And of course, no baby life is complete without some bath or sand and water play toys. Babies are mesmerised by water play and the multitude of textures created by sand and water, both are a fast favourite way to spend a play afternoon with a little one.
