Our little 6 year old champions still need to hang out with you and receive your attention and support. But they are starting to grow their independence and will need some time away from family activities as their personal interests start to develop.
As their personality grows and their unique attributes start to shine, you may notice that they are talking and chatting about everything and anything on their mind. They might be sharing all their thoughts feeling and experiences. Something that wasn’t achievable just a short time ago.
This is also a great time to watch their abilities grow with reading sight words and writing letters and basic words. Its fantastic watching how proud they are of themselves when they achieve these milestones and toys that support this learning are a great way of helping them along. We have a broad range for games and puzzles that engage this learning – learning while playing, it’s just the best.
6 year olds typically enjoy moving and exploring which is why we keep ranges of toys specifically for outdoor exploration. These toys might originally be introduced at a younger age, but watch as they are now used for new exploration games as the scope of the game gets more complicated due to the skills a 6 year old has now mastered.
This is also a great age for encouraging the games requiring a bit more independent thinking and problem solving. Things which include more complicated building and creativity.
