Kia Ora, I'm Hine.
Hine loves to partake in kapa haka. She likes to sing waiata and learn new poi routines, like her aunties. Hine loves performing kapa haka to connect with and remember her ancestors. Her favourite part of kapa haka is performing with her whanau and friends.
Hine and her twin brother Tama are brought up by her wider whanau, where they practice the meaning behind the saying:
"Ma te hapu te tamaiti e whakatupu"
The responsibility of raising a child rests with the wider community.
